A Message from The Executive Director - Louie Manzo Thanks for joining us at Boobalicious The Pink Playground – hopefully you enjoyed the show. If you’ve been to Boobalicious in the past, thank you – I’m grateful for being able to host you year after year; it’s been fun creating an annual event with great friends in mind. If you’ve joined us for the first time, I hope you liked it. We’ve been working for some time putting together an explosive, fun filled night with just about everything you can imagine and then some – we’re almost there and getting closer. The entertainment this year was jaw dropping (I say that every year, because it is) but this one was simply amazing. Each year seems to be better then the last, thanks to the incredibly talented backbone of this event, a small team who make every project we work on a meaningful experience for everyone involved – thanks Phil, Michael, Archie, Nick, Ramona, Wanda, Tammy, Jon & Chris. I’m looking forward to what comes together for next year and can’t wait to get started. A good friend asked why Breast Cancer? Why Boobalicious? What's my connection? Well, we’ve hosted dozens of parties and events over the years and have always found a charity or group that was in need and could benefit from our connection to great people and a fun show. Sadly, like many people I’ve lost family and friends to cancer and have always wanted to help people get through the pain connected with any battle. When Breast Cancer affected my family 6 years ago, we lived through the fight, the threat of loss, and met so many who were touched by this disease. The common bond was support, hope and the readiness to fight - I noticed first hand, the new lease on life survivors and their families had when they fought and won - I obviously wanted to see more wins. I thought this was a cause worth helping and that our annual party could be a rallying call for support and celebration, to celebrate our wins, remember our losses and to join forces for one night and simply celebrate. Like many, we set our sights on Breast Cancer years ago, and thankfully money is now being raised all over the world and research is advancing day by day. At this point in time we've decided to host Boobalicious for as long as you'll have us. I'd love for the show to become the fundraising event of the year, one that is a "must attend" either because you love the night and entertainment, or because you are looking to help one of our selected causes. Our beneficiaries may change in time - as Breast Cancer has the support of so many - and many local charities connected to cancer could benefit from our efforts. For now, my goal is simple, lets have fun, create a night unlike any other and - if all goes as planned - to make meaningful financial contributions to the organizations that need our help, contributions that help so many. Thank you all for your support. If you’d like to make a difference please lend your support, join our executive committee, connect us to your world, volunteer your time, come to the show or become a sponsor in 2010. Please look through the site for our comments after the event and be sure to check the gallery for photos. Many thanks to our sponsors, entertainers and friends for making Boobalicious Toronto a night to remember. Louie Manzo |
